Flight Centre national product manager James Brooker said AirAsia X had done well with its Gold Coast operation, quoting: “We welcome anything that brings competition, and this will certainly do that.” He further added that flights from Christchurch could be so cheap that travelers from Auckland, Wellington and other centers would be enticed to the Garden City just to take advantage of these fares.
